Why I Wrote This

Why is this material Important?

Lust Free Living (LFL) is a small-group curriculum for Christian men and women who struggle with lust and sexual issues. The workbooks are titled Dangerous Men and Unveil. I wanted it to be a short, easy to read, blunt, honest and direct way for Christian men and women to talk about sexual issues. It is Biblically sound and walks men and women through actual, solid, concrete help. A Coaching Guide with videos for each chapter is available to set the tone for maximum honesty and effectiveness. The curriculum includes the Dangerous Men or Unveil Workbook (The Steps to Freedom in Christ by Neil T. Anderson is included,) a Coaching Guide on DVD and you can print, and videos on DVD to play before each lesson.

"Follow me." Those are the words of Jesus to his first disciples and consequently to those who today surrender their lives to the lifealtering love that Jesus offers. Following Jesus is no easy task and many obstacles lie in the way. One of the obstacles we see so often in the Church and culture is sexual sin. Our passion is to disciple men and women into an exciting life submitted to Jesus. This is the great adventure, to know God.

Sexual Sin

I believe that sexual lust is the major area that Satan uses against all men and women. I have found very effective ways of helping Christian young people learn to live lust free lives. I did not set out to write anything. This just came as a response to volunteering to lead a small group of young men at my church. God’s Spirit changed lives and I found myself just responding to His Spirit. Eventually this has evolved into the LFL materials and ministry.

Objectives

When I finally figured that I should write some of this information down, here were my objectives:

  • Short and easy to read.
  • A curriculum in workbook form.
  • Written in language that would be blunt, honest and direct.
  • Make it easy to read and talk about the subject. Give them easy words for difficult to talk about subjects.
  • The concepts written in a transferable fashion (meaning that anyone can take it and make it useful and effective for them).
  • Biblically sound.
  • Effective and practical for daily living. Actual, solid, concrete help. An answer, not just more questions.

Steps to Freedom

Neil T. Anderson’s Steps to Freedom in Christ has personally made a huge difference in my walk with God. It is a spiritual and moral inventory of your life. Mostly you are asking the Holy Spirit to reveal things to you so you can confess and renounce them. It is a fantastic tool for spiritual growth and freedom. He has generously consented to allowing me to include the Steps into the workbooks, Dangerous Men and Unveil for women. I am grateful for this and for the Freedom in Christ Ministries. Thank you for taking the time to investigate LFL. I hope this material helps you (and your group) deal with sexual issues and, ultimately, build a closer relationship with God.

Sincerely,
Lowell Seashore
